Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Acute Leukemia and Hematology – Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; self-scheduling requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules; variable weekend coverage based on unit needs
Highlights:
- Specialized 24-bed acute leukemia and hematology unit caring primarily for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
- High-acuity medical unit with focus on blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
- Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, maximum 1:5
- EPIC electronic charting system
- Comprehensive two-week orientation: first week Monday-Friday dayshift, second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
- Strong interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required)
- Minimum 2 years overall nursing experience
- Required: Medical-surgical oncology experience and at least 1 year inpatient hematology oncology experience
- Current acute care experience within the last 12 months in hematology oncology specialty
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemotherapy Certification (required)
- NIHSS certification (preferred)
- EPIC charting experience required
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with central lines, PICC lines, ports, IV therapy, and blood product administration
- Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
