Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Bone Marrow Transplant / Hematology Oncology – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; may include days, nights, or rotating schedule based on unit needs

Highlights:

  • Specialty unit focused on bone marrow transplant and hematology oncology with a 33-bed mixed acuity progressive care and medical-surgical environment
  • Care for patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
  • Epic EMR system with GE telemetry monitoring and modern clinical equipment including Alaris pumps and Stryker beds
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and social services
  • 72-hour orientation period with float to other medical-surgical oncology units as needed
  • One pre-approved time-off period available during contract

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience with at least 1 year of current specialty experience
  • Required: Medical-surgical and inpatient hematology oncology experience (minimum 1 year)
  • Required: Experience with leukemia/blood dyscrasias, lymphoma/non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and multiple myeloma within the past 3 years
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
  • Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references including at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor

Clinical Skills:

  • Chemotherapy administration and post-chemotherapy body fluid handling
  • Blood and blood product administration
  • Central line management including blood draws and sterile dressing changes
  • Port access and management, PICC line management, and peripheral line care
  • Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Recognition and communication of abnormal lab values
  • Isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols
  • Understanding of graft rejection, graft-versus-host disease, and stem cell therapies
