Responsibilities include managing and monitoring post-surgical patients. Candidates with one year of experience may need to be reviewed by the manager. Experience with telemetry monitoring is essential. Floating to other areas may be required if not needed on the home unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio in the Progressive Care Unit is aimed to be maintained at 3-4:1 for optimal care. Interdisciplinary support includes services such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various post-surgical needs. Applicants must have valid certifications in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
