Description:
Schedule includes 3x12-hour rotating shifts, consisting of nights and days.
Weekdays and some weekends are required, with rotating holidays also necessary.
Traveler will be required to float to different units as needed.
This unit focuses on lower acuity cardiac patients.
Patient ratio is 1:3-4.
Primary service includes general cardiology with electrophysiology focus and overflow from open heart surgery.
Common patient diagnoses include arrhythmias, syncope, chest pain, congestive heart failure, endocarditis, and lung transplant readmissions.
Staffing support includes interdisciplinary team members such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.
Patients may undergo special procedures such as pacemaker placement, arrhythmia ablation, and cardiac catheterizations.
Strong skills in the management of dysrhythmias and oxygen administration are required.
Candidates must be able to monitor telemetry and engage with Rapid Response or Code teams as necessary.
