    Contract | Days (5x8 Hours, 7:00–15:30) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department supporting 34 operating rooms.
    • Support patients undergoing all major surgical services including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab procedures, and regional anesthesia or ECT cases.
    • Float to pediatric PACU as needed, caring for patients of all ages in both pre-op and recovery phases.
    • Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as part of routine patient care.
    • Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and adhere to all unit protocols and safety standards.
    • Participate in scheduled weekend rotations (2–3 weekends per contract period).
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license (Compact or Louisiana state license required and must be in hand at time of submission).
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or a directly related specialty.
    • Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA-issued certifications required).
    • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system.
    • Ability and willingness to float to pediatric PACU as operationally needed.
    • Willingness to serve on an emergency response team and remain at or return to the facility during declared emergency events as directed by unit management.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Background in PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing strongly preferred.
    • Experience caring for pediatric surgical populations in a high-volume setting.
    • Familiarity with regional anesthesia patient care and ECT procedures.
