Key Responsibilities
Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department
Support patients undergoing all major surgical services, including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab procedures, and regional anesthesia
Float to pediatric PACU as needed, caring for patients of all ages in pre-op and recovery settings
Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein
Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and fulfill 2–3 scheduled weekend shifts per contract period
Participate in emergency team assignments as directed by unit management in the event of an emergency event
Required Qualifications
Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or a related specialty
Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
Proficiency with Epic EMR
NURSYS report required and must be current within 4 weeks of submission date
Must meet travel compliance distance requirements (greater than 65 miles from facility)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Background in PACU or Pre/Post-Op nursing strongly preferred
Experience caring for pediatric surgical populations
Familiarity with regional anesthesia and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) patient care
