Job Details:
• Work three 12-hour shifts per week with self-scheduling (shifts can be worked consecutively or split up)
• Variable weekend shifts required
• No block scheduling required
• No on-call required
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• May float between Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Scrub color: Navy blue for RNs
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line/implanted line care, continuous sedation, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, management of dysrhythmias, pediatric step down, PICU, suctioning (ETT, NT), and ventilator management
• Treat patients across age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Facility:
This facility is a dedicated children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 181 total staff beds. The facility specializes in pediatric care across a wide range of age groups and medical conditions, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams. The PICU unit features 18 beds with a daily census of approximately 15 patients, ensuring focused and specialized care for critically ill pediatric patients.
