AHS Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa.
Pediatrics OR RN – Travel | 4 openings
This is a Level I Trauma environment with 16 OR suites, typically running 12–14 at a time. They average approximately 35–50 cases/day, with a turnover expectation under 20 minutes. Staffing is 1:1.
Cases include cardiac/PV, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, GYN, urology, general, pediatrics, transplants, plus smaller volumes of ENT and plastics. Equipment includes 3 da Vinci robots, Stealth neuro-navigation, and primarily Synthes/Stryker for ortho trauma.
Travelers are required to float across UnityPoint campuses, including Iowa Methodist and Iowa Lutheran.
24 months of current OR experience is required, with hospital/medical-center experience prioritized. Candidate must have circulating/OR experience, plus experience with General, da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma.
Also required: Epic within the last 3 years, at least Level II Trauma experience, BLS, active Iowa or compact/multistate RN license at submission, and the candidate cannot be a first-time traveler—they must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months.
Highly preferred: scrub experience, Level I Trauma, orthopedic scrubbing, and experience with neuro, ortho trauma, GYN, urology, transplant, plastics, ENT, and vascular.
One thing I'd screen very carefully on this job is Pediatrics + da Vinci + Trauma experience. Those are specifically listed as required, not preferred.
