License: BLS Certifications: PALS preferred Must-Have: Strong pediatric assessment and critical thinking skills, central line management, and chemotherapy administration experience. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology unit. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma Designated Academic Medical Center with 885 licensed beds. This role involves caring for a patient population with diagnoses such as leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and behavioral health concerns. Patient ratios will be 1:4-5 for pediatric adolescent medicine with support from a certified nursing assistant. The unit has a team-oriented culture with a strong emphasis on professional growth, education, and safety. The role will require floating between units as needed. Weekend rotation is expected every other weekend, and travelers will be required to work 75% of holidays. Scrubs are royal blue, with pediatric-appropriate scrub tops permitted. The department supports team collaboration and provides resources such as a charge nurse, phlebotomy, and an IV team for difficult peripheral access. Telemetry monitoring support is available 24/7.
