Registered Nurse (RN) - IMC/Tele

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our IMC/Tele team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit, particularly those recovering from cardiac procedures and surgeries.

Shift Details

  • Shift: Nights
  • Shift Hours: 1900 to 0730
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Stepdown
  • Number of Beds: 29
  • Nurse-Patient Ratios:
    • 1:4 on days through 2300
    • 1:5-6 on nights after 2300
  • Common Diagnoses:
    • Cardiac medical and surgical conditions
    • Post-cath lab patients (stents, pacemakers, ICDs, etc.)
    • Post-cardiac surgery (CABG, valve replacements, etc.)
    • Conditions including atrial fibrillation, chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience in a busy hospital environment.
  • Experience with post-procedural patients from the cath lab.
  • Ability to manage TR band compression devices and chest pain.
  • Experience with post-cardiac surgical patients is essential.
  • Certification Requirements:
    • ACLS (American Heart Association)
    • BLS (American Heart Association)

Additional Information

  • RNs are required to titrate drips, with no vasopressors used.
  • Titratable drips include Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Dobutamine.
  • Central telemetry unit monitors all non-critical care patients.
  • Nurse Aides are available to assist with patient care on the unit.
  • Respiratory Therapy (RT) is available 24/7 for patient needs.
  • Unit-specific orientation will be provided, including HR onboarding and training on the unit.
