Job Summary:
Cardiac Telemetry and Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role involves providing care in a fast-paced intermediate cardiac step-down unit, focusing on post-operative cardiac patients and those with arrhythmias, CHF, MI, and other cardiovascular conditions. The position offers a 13-week contract beginning as soon as possible.
Job Details:
- Location: Wausau, WI 54401
- Schedule: 12-hour days, with guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Required Certifications: Wisconsin RN License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); must be able to pass EKG test in the first week of hire
- Required Qualifications: Must have at least 1 year of recent strong cardiac experience (Cardiac Step-Down Unit, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac Intensive Care Unit), and 2 years of interior medicine or progressive care/telemetry experience. Candidates must have experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips. One completed travel assignment is required, with at least 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience.
- Additional Information: This unit is a 44-bed, fast-paced cardiac step-down unit with high patient turnover, caring for post-op CABG, valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defibrillator, ablations, acute cardiac events, med/surg overflow, and respiratory failure. Patient ratio is typically 1:4. Float to inpatient units as needed. Every other weekend and holiday work required.

- COVID/Flu Policy: During flu season, travelers declining vaccination must wear masks at all times.
