Job Summary
Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-acuity cardiac step-down unit within a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment. The role requires resilient candidates who can manage change independently while delivering quality patient care. The contract is scheduled for 13 weeks, with a start date as soon as possible, focusing on night shifts.

Job Details

• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
• Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC, able to pass EKG test in first week of hire, minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience (Cardiac Step Down Unit, Intermediate Cardiac, Cardiac ICU), 2 years of IMC/PCU/Tele experience, experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips, at least one completed travel assignment, recent EPIC charting experience of at least 1 year
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday
• Float: Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Additional Information:
  • 44-bed high patient turnover cardiac step-down unit
  • Typical patient ratio of 1:4
  • Post-operative care including CABG, valve surgeries, thoracotomies, vascular, arrhythmia management, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defibrillator, ablations, acute MI, med/surg overflow such as detox, DKA, COPD exacerbations, respiratory failure, Fem Pop bypass
  • Must be able to manage independently and complete tasks timely
  • Scrub colors allowed in any color
  • During flu season, vaccination is mandatory, and masks are required for unvaccinated staff
