Job Requirements

  • 2 years of total acute care nursing experience required
  • At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
  • Current acute care experience must be active and consistent within the last 12 months
  • Valid RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • High-acuity PCU experience required
  • Ability to float to equivalent or lower-acuity oncology or med-surg units
  • Previous travel nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate care for adult oncology and telemetry patients in a fast-paced PCU environment
  • Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and assist with rapid response interventions when needed
  • Manage advanced-care therapies and equipment, including telemetry monitoring, IV pumps, bladder scanners, PCA pumps, and respiratory support devices
  • Perform line care, blood product administration, feeding tube management, and other skilled nursing interventions
  • Support infection prevention initiatives and fall-reduction best practices
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other support services to deliver coordinated patient care
  • Float as needed within comparable oncology and med-surg units based on patient care needs
