Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
• Current, consistent acute care experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to float to other PCU or Med-Surg oncology units as needed
• Oncology nursing experience preferred, but not required

PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care to adult progressive care patients with complex oncology-related conditions
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Support rapid response and code team interventions when needed
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, ports, peripheral IVs, and feeding tubes
• Administer blood products and support heparin protocols
• Care for patients with cardiac drips, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomies
• Perform wound care, wound vac management, and surgical drain care
• Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy and support related care needs as appropriate
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention, fall prevention, and overall patient safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to provide coordinated, compassionate care
