  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend, with weekdays and some weekends as needed

  • Unit Highlights: 24-bed cardiovascular inpatient unit with progressive care capabilities

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) experience
  • Current RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with telemetry, cardiac stepdown, and intermediate care preferred
  • Ability to perform IV starts and manage IV insulin drips preferred
  • Strong knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Comfortable floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult progressive care and cardiac stepdown patients
  • Monitor and assess patients with conditions such as chest pain, heart failure, EKG changes, and pulmonary embolism
  • Interpret telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
  • Administer medications and treatments while maintaining safe, evidence-based patient care
  • Perform IV starts, manage peripheral lines, and support patients receiving IV insulin therapy
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response resources
  • Maintain strong communication, documentation, and teamwork in a busy inpatient hospital environment
  • Float within comparable or lower-acuity units as needed
