- Unit Environment: Adult oncology telemetry and progressive care with high-acuity patients
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- At least 1 year of recent PCU nurse experience
- High-acuity patient care experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Experience with telemetry nursing and progressive care workflows
- Willingness to float to other PCU or Med-Surg oncology units as needed
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention, fall prevention, and patient safety standards
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult patients with complex oncology diagnoses
- Monitor telemetry, identify cardiac rhythm changes, and respond to shifts in patient status
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products safely and accurately
- Support respiratory care needs, including high-flow oxygen and non-invasive airway support
- Care for central lines, PICC lines, ports, feeding tubes, and surgical drains
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to improve outcomes
- Respond to rapid changes in condition and assist with rapid response workflows
- Maintain strong infection prevention practices and promote patient safety at all times
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
- Float within equivalent or lower-acuity oncology units when required
