- Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night schedule
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
- Orientation: 72 hours
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Charting System: Epic electronic health record (EHR)
- Special Focus: Infection prevention and patient fall prevention
- Schedule Notes: Rotating assignments may include days, nights, or a combination based on department needs
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of total acute care nursing experience
- At least 1 year of recent PCU experience required
- Active and consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months
- Valid RN license in hand at time of submission
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS preferred
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Ability to work with adult and geriatric patients
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit for patients with acute leukemia and hematology-related needs
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to support timely clinical decision-making
- Administer blood products, IV therapies, antibiotics, and electrolytes as ordered
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and ports with confidence and accuracy
- Support feeding tube care, phlebotomy, and IV access needs as appropriate
- Respond effectively as part of a rapid response-ready interdisciplinary team
- Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention practices
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, coordinated patient care
- Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed based on unit needs
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced specialty nursing environment
