  • Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
  • Contract Length: 16 weeks

  • Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Shifts Per Week: 3
  • Orientation: 72 hours
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
  • Charting System: Epic

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of total acute care nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of recent PCU nursing experience required
  • Current acute care experience must be recent and consistent within the last 12 months
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Experience with Epic charting preferred
  • Comfort working in a mixed-acuity surgical oncology environment
  • Ability to float within scope of practice to other acute care oncology units
  • Strong clinical background in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and progressive care workflows
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to patients with complex surgical oncology needs
  • Monitor and manage PCU and med-surg level patients with varying acuity
  • Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips as ordered
  • Care for patients experiencing oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
  • Provide chest tube care and support patients requiring respiratory or telemetry monitoring
  • Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention, fall prevention, and patient safety
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and manage telemetry monitoring on the unit
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and throughput
  • Float to other acute care oncology units as needed within scope of practice
