OR RN – Job Details
Position: Operating Room RN (OR RN)
Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights
Schedule:7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekends: Required
Holidays: Required
Call: Required
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS: Required
- ACLS: Preferred
- OR/ASU clinical experience and knowledge preferred
Clinical Skills & Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles and patient-care standards
- Assess and address patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs
- Maintain a safe and aseptic environment in the OR/ASU setting
- Knowledge of typical clinical equipment and instrumentation used in the OR
- Recognize and address patient and staff safety concerns
- Properly assess and use patient lifts and safe patient-handling techniques
- Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Professional Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team
