Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract position. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 12-hour night shifts
  • Weekend, holiday, and call availability required

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current RN license in New York State
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Preceptorship, charge, and leadership experience preferred for experienced RNs

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care in the operating room
  • Assess and respond to patients' clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs
  • Recognize safety issues for yourself and others, implementing safe patient handling techniques
  • Effectively manage stressful situations with creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities including prioritization and delegation of tasks
  • May assume duties as a charge nurse, overseeing team operations

Skills

  • Proficient in interpreting lethal dysrhythmias
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of clinical equipment and instrumentation relevant to the operating room and ambulatory surgical unit settings
