# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Bone Marrow Transplant & Hematology Oncology – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with rotating day/night possibilities; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on unit needs

Highlights:
  • Specialized oncology unit focusing on bone marrow transplant, hematology, and mixed acuity progressive care
  • Work with complex patient populations including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and stem cell transplant recipients
  • Advanced treatment modalities including autologous, allogeneic, and syngeneic transplants, plus CAR-T therapy
  • 36-bed unit with daily census of approximately 33 patients; EPIC charting system utilized
  • 72 hours of comprehensive orientation provided
  • Float opportunities to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units
Requirements:
  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
  • Minimum 1 year of current inpatient hematology oncology experience required
  • Current experience with leukemia/blood dyscrasias, lymphoma/Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and multiple myeloma (required)
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (required)
  • BLS Certification (required)
  • ACLS Certification (preferred)
  • EPIC charting system experience required
  • Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
Skills & Competencies:
  • Chemotherapy administration and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
  • Blood and blood product administration
  • Central line management including blood draws and sterile dressing changes
  • Port access and management, PICC line care
  • Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Management of transplant-related complications including graft rejection and graft-versus-host disease
  • Recognition and communication of abnormal laboratory values
  • Sepsis management and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
Patient Population:

You will care for patients with a variety of hematologic malignancies and conditions, including:

  • Acute and chronic leukemias (ALL, AML, CLL, CML)
  • Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
  • Multiple myeloma
  • Myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloproliferative disorders
  • Aplastic anemia and amyloidosis
  • Bone marrow transplant recipients at various stages of recovery

Compliance: Strict credentialing timeline with fingerprinting requirements for Ohio; compliance deadline is the Tuesday prior to start date

References: Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership position
