Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: NC or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, PALS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), APHON required Must-Have: Experience in pediatric oncology and administering chemotherapy Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatric Oncology. The position is for night shifts, 3 times a week. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience. Required certifications include BLS, PALS, and Chemotherapy certification from ONS or ONCC. A current NC or Compact nursing license is necessary. Experience must include accessing and managing ports, administration of chemotherapy, and knowledge of pediatric oncology conditions. The unit cares for adolescents, infants, and pediatric patients with complex medical needs, including stem cell transplant recipients. Staffing ratios are generally 2 patients per nurse during day, night, and weekend shifts. Workers will need to comply with all standard health and safety protocols. Candidates should be able to provide education and support to patients and families. Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. The role involves managing a diverse range of patient symptoms and complications. Orientation and training will be provided for successful candidates.
