Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Oncology Chemotherapy Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: NC or Compact license in hand Certifications: BLS, PALS, Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC), APHON Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred. - Experience with pediatric oncology and administering chemotherapy. - Knowledge of patient care coordination and management. Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in pediatric oncology. The nurse will work on a blended pediatric specialty unit caring for adolescents, infants, and children. Responsibilities include managing and administering chemotherapy, blood products, and bone marrow. The nurse will also coordinate patient care and provide education and support to patients and families. Experience with accessing and managing ports, IV hydration, and central line care is necessary. Understanding of chemotherapy side effects and management is essential. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and pharmacy, is required. The position involves caring for a complex patient population, including stem cell transplant recipients and patients with high-risk malignancies. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The nurse will monitor patient conditions and communicate any changes. Attendance and punctuality are key components of this role.
