Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience
• At least 1 completed travel assignment required
• BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• Experience in Special Care Nursery / Level II nursery care
• Delivery room experience required
• Charting system experience required
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
• Comfortable floating to postpartum for baby care assignments
• Strong clinical communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for neonates in the Special Care Nursery
• Support newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and feeding care
• Assist with discharge teaching, car seat education, and cord care instruction
• Administer medications and IV antibiotics as ordered
• Monitor infants for hypoglycemia, low birth weight, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and other common nursery needs
• Support phototherapy, infant identification, and isolation precautions
• Start and maintain IVs as clinically indicated
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to support high-quality patient care
• Float to postpartum for baby care assignments when needed
• Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and a patient-first approach throughout the assignment
