- Schedule: 4x12-hour day shifts
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,790-$1,890
- Floating: May float to postpartum for baby care assignments
- Additional Support: Interdisciplinary collaboration with Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, and Social Services
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience
- At least 1 completed travel assignment required
- Special Care Nursery or Level II Nursery experience preferred
- Delivery room experience required
- Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications
- Experience with charting systems required
- Strong skills in newborn assessment, thermoregulation, hypoglycemia management, phototherapy, IV initiation, and discharge teaching
- Must be comfortable supporting neonates and collaborating with families
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care for neonates in a Special Care Nursery setting
- Perform newborn assessments and monitor infants requiring specialized care
- Support delivery room care and respond to newborn needs after birth
- Administer IV antibiotics, start and maintain IVs, and assist with newborn interventions as needed
- Educate parents on infant identification, cord care, car seat safety, circumcision care, and discharge readiness
- Monitor and manage infants experiencing low birth weight, large for gestational age, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and hypoglycemia
- Provide phototherapy, thermoregulation support, and isolation precautions when indicated
- Collaborate with the neonatal care team to promote positive outcomes for babies and families
- Float to postpartum for baby care assignments when needed
