Knowledge of phototherapy, thermoregulation, and newborn hypoglycemia management is essential. The position requires post-epidural management and pain assessment and management, including the use of PCA. Responsibilities also include bladder assessment and Foley catheter insertion, as well as breastfeeding instruction and perineum care. Experience with vaginal delivery and cesarean section is necessary, along with the ability to manage postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension. Floating between units may be required to meet staffing needs. Weekend work is required to ensure proper staffing levels.
