Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit serving an adult patient population
- Manage post-surgical care for patients presenting with diagnoses including abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and bariatric surgery
- Operate specialty equipment including IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes
- Float to other units as required to support staffing needs
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license — all active RN licenses must be verified
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Completed skills checklist matching Medical/Surgical specialty
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Local candidates (within 75 miles) are welcome to apply
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for post-surgical and bariatric patient populations
- Familiarity with IV pumps, NG tubes, and enteral feeding tube management
- Demonstrated flexibility with floating assignments across units
