Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical – Kansas

Start Date: October 5, 2026 (with bi-weekly orientation dates available through November 30, 2026)

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation

Highlights:
  • 32-bed general medical inpatient unit caring for patients with respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, musculoskeletal diagnoses, dialysis, sepsis, and various infections
  • 1:6 nurse-to-patient staffing ratio
  • Epic charting system with test-out option available
  • 26-51 week contracts preferred; longer contracts receive priority consideration
  • Float to other post-surgical floors and medical-surgical inpatient units as needed
  • Holiday RTO policy allows 1 requested holiday off; 2 federal holidays per year plus spring and winter non-essential holidays
Requirements:
  • Kansas or Multistate Compact RN license (no hits allowed, no exceptions)
  • AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
  • ADN or BSN degree
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care medical/surgical experience
  • No first-time travelers
  • Vaccination requirements include immunity status or proof of Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TDaP, Influenza (or exemption during flu season), and TB documentation
