TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Bridgeport, West Virginia, 26330!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active Registered Nurse License Required Certifications: BLS Certification Required Must-Have: Ability to read and interpret strips Description: The position is within a medical surgical unit. Ratios are mainly 1:5-6 for both days and nights on most units. There may be instances of having 7 patients toward the end of the shift, depending on acuity. A charge nurse is present in every unit. The day charge does not take patients, while the night charge does. Nurse aides, such as CNAs, are utilized across all units. Every other weekend commitment is required for both days and nights. Work will be scheduled into the holiday rotation alongside permanent staff. Scrub color is royal blue. Most units have monitor techs, but RNs must be able to read and interpret strips. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. RNs are responsible for aerosols for non-vented patients as well as EKGs. IV Team is available house-wide until specified hours on weekdays and reduced hours on weekends. In-house pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts consist of 12-hour schedules from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. There will be 1-2 shifts of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor. Common diagnoses include CHF, cardiac catheterization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic cases, and oncology. Permanent staff will administer chemotherapy. The manager is receptive to traveler requests for scheduling preferences. The cancellation policy allows for two shifts per 13-week contract. Charting is completed using an electronic system. No false nails are permitted while on duty. Floating to critical care will involve assignment to med/surg or stepdown type patients.
