Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Perform cardiac monitoring duties including interpretation of dysrhythmias and participation in Rapid Response and Code team activations
- Manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care and management, peripheral line care, and starting and maintaining IVs
- Apply respiratory support skills including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
- Adhere to isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
- Float to all areas holding Med-Surg patients as needed per unit requirements; strong Med-Surg background required
Required Qualifications
- Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience required
- BCLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and respiratory support skills as outlined
- Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are welcome to apply; a modified local rate will apply
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Telemetry experience with demonstrated ability in management of dysrhythmias
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification
- Chemotherapy administration experience and/or certification
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
