Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12-Hour Shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation of dysrhythmias and activation of Rapid Response / Code teams as needed
- Administer blood products and manage central lines, peripheral lines, and IV therapy; perform phlebotomy as required
- Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
- Maintain strict isolation precautions and PPE protocols in accordance with facility policy
- Float to all areas holding Med-Surg patients as needed per unit requirements; strong Med-Surg background required
Required Qualifications
- Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience required
- BCLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care and management
- Local candidates are welcome; please note that a lower rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Dedicated Telemetry unit experience with demonstrated ability to manage dysrhythmias
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification
- Chemotherapy administration experience and/or certification
