Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a Medical Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) unit serving patients with respiratory conditions, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and acute-on-chronic medical conditions. Operate and monitor equipment including IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidural pumps, ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, non-rebreather masks, VAC dressings, and specialty beds.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) unit serving patients with respiratory conditions, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and acute-on-chronic medical conditions
• Read and interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms for assigned patients
• Manage and maintain tracheostomy care for applicable patients
• Operate and monitor equipment including IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidural pumps, ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, non-rebreather masks, VAC dressings, and specialty beds
• Document all patient care accurately using the facility's Epic EMR system
• Float to other IMC or med/surg units of similar level of care based on unit need and nursing skill requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Maine
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry or IMC nursing
• Experience with tracheostomy care and reading/interpreting telemetry strips required for all RNs
• Ventilator experience required for IMC RN assignments
• Completion of mandatory facility onboarding education modules required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an Intermediate Care (IMC) or step-down unit setting
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills with a patient-centered care approach
