Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry in Batavia, NY

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 37-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit serving primarily elderly patients with respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and neurological diagnoses, with potential overflow ortho patients. Operate within a Care Delivery Model team structure consisting of 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT for up to 9 patients; participate in modified team configurations when full teams are not available.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 37-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit serving primarily elderly patients with respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and neurological diagnoses, with potential overflow ortho patients.
• Operate within a Care Delivery Model team structure consisting of 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT for up to 9 patients; participate in modified team configurations when full teams are not available.
• Monitor and manage telemetry patients, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac and clinical status.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC (required).
• Float to other Medical Surgical units as needed.
• Provide weekend coverage on an every-other-weekend basis, with an expected 4 weekend shifts per month.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State (NY) RN license — must be in hand at time of submission.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN experience.
• EPIC EMR experience is a hard requirement.
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience working in a team-based care delivery model.
• Familiarity with ortho patient populations as overflow coverage.
