Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care as part of a medical surgical float pool. The role involves supporting various medical surgical units, including those specializing in neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, orthopedics, oncology, and organ transplant services.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care across multiple medical surgical units.
• Perform unit-specific procedures including 12 lead EKGs, intravenous medication administration, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists and nursing staff in managing ventilators and nebulizer treatments.
• Ensure adherence to patient safety and care standards.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Schedule

The position involves an 8-week assignment starting on January 4th. The schedule consists of rotating 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, including overnight and weekend hours. Every four-week period will include one week with one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts.

Travel RNs may receive assignment notifications with limited notice, including as close as two hours before their shift.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license is required at the time of application.
• A minimum of 3 years of related work experience is mandatory.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Current certifications in CPR and ACLS are required.
• Basic familiarity with computers and ability to navigate web-based applications is necessary.
• Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is required.
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise is preferred.
• Level I trauma experience is necessary.

Orientation

Orientation is provided weekly, taking place every Monday, barring holidays.

Additional Information

Travel RNs are expected to comply with all scheduling requests and provide requests for time off at the time of submission. Scrubs of any color are acceptable, and parking fees may apply. Public transportation options are available for commuting.
