Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our medical surgical float pool, supporting multiple units within a large healthcare facility. This role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to various medical surgical specialties.

Schedule

• 12-hour and 8-hour shifts, rotating days/nights
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• 3 out of 4 weeks will consist of a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
• Rotation may occur within the same week; however, advanced notice will be provided when necessary
• RTO (Requests Time Off) must be submitted at the time of application, with a maximum of 3 days

Role Responsibilities

• Assist with unit-specific procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, Lasix gtt, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• Responsible for administering nebulizers; ventilator management handled by the respiratory therapy team
• Provide high-quality nursing care within an average patient ratio of 4:1 during days and 6:1 during nights
• Support a diverse range of specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedic, oncology, liver and kidney transplants, and vascular care
• May receive assignments up to 2 hours before shift start time

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Basic familiarity with computer systems and web-based applications; Epic experience required
• Current AHA CPR and ACLS certification required
• Experience in a teaching hospital setting is preferred
• Level I trauma experience is required

Orientation is held weekly, every Monday barring holidays. Uniform scrubs are allowed in any color. Parking may incur daily costs, and public transportation options are available for commuting.
