Telemetry Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong ability to monitor and treat patients with dysrhythmias while working collaboratively within a diverse healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing direct patient care in a 24-bed med-surg/tele overflow unit.
  • Monitoring telemetry readings and responding to dysrhythmias appropriately.
  • Collaborating with nursing staff and ancillary partners to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintaining effective communication with patients and their families.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • No first-time travelers; must have prior travel experience.
  • Current BCLS certification is required.
  • Ability to float to sister units as needed.

Shift Details

  • Shift Type: 12-hour days.
  • Target patient ratios: 1:5, occasionally 1:6.
  • Expected to work every other weekend.

Unit Details

The unit is supported by CNAs at a 1:12 ratio. Our team is dedicated to restoring physiological stability, preventing complications, and ensuring optimal patient responses. We utilize Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR for effective communication and documentation.

Orientation and Requirements

  • 36 hours of unit orientation will be provided.
  • Hospital orientation in the first week with daily attendance required for classes.
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to the start of the position.

Scrubs

Navy blue scrubs are required during shifts.
