Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality patient care to a diverse population, including adult and geriatric patients with various medical and surgical conditions under family medicine services.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a collaborative environment.
• Initiate and manage IVs and administer medications as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Participate in patient education and support family involvement in care.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations when working with Department of Corrections patients.

Schedule

This RN position includes 12-hour shifts, rotating day and night schedules, with required every other weekend rotation and holiday coverage as necessary. Adjustments to shift rotations may be made upon employee request, within the established scheduling guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Experience in starting IVs is a must.
• Current RN license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is required.
• Candidates must successfully pass a telemetry test prior to starting.

Work Environment

This position will involve working with patients from the Department of Corrections, which may include a range of security protocols. Staff members will always be accompanied by a Department of Corrections officer when assisting these patients.

Patient Demographics

The unit primarily serves adults and geriatric patients, providing care for a variety of conditions and diagnoses.
