Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Care Float Pool Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3+ years of acute care experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - High acuity acute care experience - Experience titrating insulin and Heparin drips highly preferred - Experience with PCA's and managing Epidural Medications preferred Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in an Acute Care Float Pool setting. The role involves floating to various acute care units, rehab, and boarding areas. The nurse will be responsible for managing patients in high acuity situations. Experience in a teaching facility is highly preferred. The nurse will float to multiple units during a shift as needed. Ratios during the night shift will be 1:4-5. The nurse will need to monitor for side effects and manage medical issues related to chemotherapy. Epidural medication experience is highly preferred. The aim is to keep requests for time off to a minimum for scheduling flexibility. Nurses should have a comprehensive skills checklist completed within the last six months by a direct supervisor. Travelers must float within the hospital and adapt to changing patient care demands. This position may include working in emergency, PACU, and ICU areas as needed. Successful candidates will possess skills in managing a variety of medical procedures and protocols.
