Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,300 per week in Columbus, OH

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry / Oncology – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day/Night rotating shifts available. Staffing ratios 1:3 to 1:5 depending on unit and acuity. Weekend shifts variable based on unit needs. Scheduling reviewed every 4-week period.

• Work within a comprehensive 318-bed acute care cancer center with 36-bed specialized oncology units
• Float across specialized cancer diagnosis units including BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, PCU Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, and Surgical Oncology
• Epic charting system with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Five shifts of bedside orientation following initial week of classroom training
• Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2+ years of current, high-acuity Medical Surgical Telemetry experience or higher required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Experience with patient ratios up to 1:5
• Epic charting system experience required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration and central line care/management
• IV insulin and heparin protocols, including titration of insulin drips
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring (preferred)
• Port access and management (preferred)
• BiPAP/CPAP management and high-flow nasal cannula
• PCA pump management and surgical drain care
• Isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols
• PICC line and peripheral line management

Additional Information:

Orientation includes one week of classroom training Monday through Friday on day shift, followed by five shifts of bedside orientation over weeks two and three. Float assignments rotate among specialized oncology units based on departmental needs. Shift assignments for rotating positions may include days, nights, or a combination and are reviewed every scheduling period based on staffing priorities.

Note: Strict compliance requirements apply. Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing. Former facility employees must have been away for 6+ months to be eligible. Local candidates accepted.
