Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs; float required to units of equivalent or lower acuity; weekend shifts variable based on unit needs
Highlights:
- 36-bed acute care medical-surgical oncology unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
- Patient care focus includes continuous cardiac monitoring for chemotherapy administration, soft tissue malignancies, symptom management, and comorbidity management
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, respiratory services, and physical therapy
- Epic EMR system with specialized equipment including GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, and bladder scanners
- Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, plus sickle cell crises
- 72-hour orientation period; previous travel experience and oncology experience preferred but not required
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of application)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required; experience must be current and consistent within the last 12 months
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Strong clinical skills including interpretation of dysrhythmias, accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, IV starts, chest tube assistance, high-flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable as second reference
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
