Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry – Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating days/nights schedule; assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs; 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio; weekend shifts vary based on unit needs
Highlights:
- Mixed acuity unit caring for Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical patients with a focus on oncology

- 36-bed unit with daily census of 32 patients; serves adult and geriatric populations
- Strong interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
- One pre-approved time off period available during contract
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license)
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care RN experience required (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
- Skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy care/management required
- ACLS, NIHSS, and OCN certifications preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Clinical Focus:
- Patient population includes head and neck cancers, neuro-oncology, and brain tumor patients
- Tracheostomy care including suctioning, general care, and inner cannula changes
- Drain management (JP drains, Hemovacs)
- BiPAP/CPAP management and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
- Equipment includes GE telemetry system (B450 monitors), bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
- Required to float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units of equivalent or lower acuity
