Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Weekdays and some weekends (3-4 weekend days per month). 4:1 patient ratio. Float required within the organization.
Highlights:
- Mixed medical-surgical and telemetry unit with 27 beds serving adult and geriatric populations
- Orientation provided: 36 hours to ensure successful onboarding
- Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Diverse case mix including general medical issues, chest tubes, PICC lines, IV therapy, paracentesis, and isolation precautions
- First-time travelers welcome with 1 year of experience
- Pre-approved time off available (one block)
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- Skills required: MS/Telemetry experience, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV starts and maintenance, PICC line management, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, isolation precautions/PPE, substance withdrawal management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- PCU experience NOT required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
- 2 professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge nurse acceptable for second reference
