Must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and manage dysrhythmias.
Experience in telemetry monitoring, both on unit and remotely.
Skilled in the use of rapid response teams and managing various patient care needs, such as colostomy and feeding tube care.
Ability to administer blood products and manage peripheral line care.
Proficient in phlebotomy and PICC line management.
Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and management of chest tubes.
Capable of providing CPAP/BiPAP support and utilizing high flow nasal cannula.
Skilled in interpreting arterial blood gases and conducting non-invasive airway management.
Experienced in administering oxygen via various delivery methods.
Knowledge in tracheostomy management and renal failure care.
Description:
The position involves caring for patients located within the emergency department who are waiting for an inpatient bed.
Patients may present with any medical or surgical adult diagnosis.
Nurses may encounter PCU level patients.
Travelers are expected to manage MS/Tele cases and may float to various areas as needed.
The target patient ratio is 1:6 for MS/Tele patients and 1:4 for PCU level patients.
Every other weekend work is required.
The role may involve responding to critical events or disasters.
Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting.
This unit has a high turnover rate and candidates will be interviewed.
Familiarity with standard medical equipment such as cardiac monitors and IV pumps is necessary.
Nurses will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care.
