Description:
This position requires a night shift of three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
Floating to similar units may be required based on need.
Weekend coverage is expected every other weekend.
The medication system used in this unit is Omnicell.
Candidates must have at least one year of Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience.
Candidates with first-time travel experience will be considered based on their qualifications.
Special procedures performed in this unit include post heart catheterization.
Bedside procedures such as dialysis catheter management, thoracentesis, and incision and drainage are required.
Patient ratios on day shifts are 6 patients, and night shifts are 7 patients.
The patient population includes adults and geriatrics.
The daily census for the unit is approximately 30 patients.
The unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
Competencies needed include accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and central line care.
Travelers are expected to float to other units and campuses as requested.
Modules are billable, and completion of required training is mandatory before starting the contract.
Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules are required for all registered nurses.
Time spent on module completion is eligible for reimbursement, with verification upon starting the contract.
