```htmlJob Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Telemetry / Stroke Unit – Tennessee

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Tennessee

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 18:45-07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend coverage required. Patient ratio 1:6 on nights.

Highlights:

  • 30-bed unit with average daily census of 27 patients; strong focus on patient experience
  • Epic EMR system with Omnicell medication dispensing
  • Flexible contract options: 13 to 26 weeks available
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services
  • 24 hours of paid orientation plus reimbursement for pre-assignment modules (up to 16 hours)

Requirements:

  • Active Tennessee RN license required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience; first-time travelers not accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
  • Previous charge experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Experience with 1:6 patient ratios preferred
  • Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
  • Willingness to float to other units based on need and documented competencies

Clinical Skills and Patient Population:

  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Common diagnoses include stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, acute kidney failure, post-cardiac catheterization, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
  • Required skills include telemetry monitoring, stroke care (CVA), blood product administration, insulin administration, heparin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, wound care/wound vac, and continuous bladder irrigation
  • Experience with accessing/managing ports, central line blood draws, PICC line management, PCA pumps, feeding tube management, and cardiac drip management (no titration) preferred
  • Unit performs peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
