Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Telemetry IMC - Float Pool

This is a float pool position where the candidate must be willing to float to multiple different units. Previous acute care hospital experience is required.

Position Information

• Role: RN
• Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry – IMC, floating to various medical, surgical, and cardiology units.
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours
• Weekend Hours: 36 hours (subject to unit needs)
• Call Requirements: None
• Years of Experience: 2 years of inpatient hospital experience preferred; Level 1 Trauma experience required; at least 1 year of travel experience required.
• Float Requirements: Will float every shift.

Education & Certifications Required

• Certifications:
  • Valid RN License (State of Maine)
  • ACLS Preferred
  • BLS Required
• Education Modules: Assigned by the education department during onboarding.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: Varies by the unit; smallest unit has 15 beds, largest has 40+ beds.
• Patient Ratios:
  • Days: Typically 1:4 (possible 1:5 when stretched)
  • Nights: 1:5 (possible 1:6 when stretched)
• Equipment: Abbott Plum Pumps
• EMR: EPIC

Hiring Profile

• Must Have Skills/Experience:
  • 2 years of Level 1 Trauma acute hospital experience
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: At least 1 year of travel assignments; 2 years of experience is preferred.
• Type of Patients: Varies based on the unit being floated to.
• Personality Fit: Flexibility is essential.

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Any color, as long as it is clean and professional.
• Unacceptable Attire: Jeans, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and shoes with holes (e.g., Crocs).

Additional Information

Minimum of 1 year travel or prior Float Pool experience is recommended for success in this role. Experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility with at least 500 beds is essential.
