Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Telemetry IMC - Float

Position Overview

This is a float pool position requiring candidates to be flexible and willing to work in multiple different units. The ideal candidate will have experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Float to various medical, surgical, and cardiology units as needed.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips effectively.
• Collaborate with diverse healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Department: Float Pool
• Number of Openings: Varies based on unit needs
• Shift: Day shift (0700 – 1930)
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Hours: 36 hours (may vary based on unit requirements)
• Call Requirements: None

Qualifications

• Experience: 2 years of inpatient hospital experience preferred; Level 1 Trauma experience is required.
• Travel Experience: Minimum 1 year travel experience required.
• Education: Must be an accredited nursing program graduate.
• Certifications: Valid RN License (State of Maine), BLS required, ACLS preferred.

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 on days (possibility of 1:5 when stretched) and 1:5 on nights (possibility of 1:6 when stretched).
• Equipment: Operate Abbott Plum Pumps.
• EMR: Experience with EPIC is preferred.

Minimum 1 year travel or prior float pool experience is recommended for success in this role. Candidates should possess experience in a Level 1 Trauma center or larger.
