Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Neurology – North Carolina
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week; manager-assigned scheduling; 12-16 weekend shifts per contract with flexible arrangement available; patient ratio 1:5-6
Highlights:
- Neurosurgical and neurological patient population including CVA and telemetry monitoring
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- Contract length options of 13-26 weeks with blocked scheduling potentially available upon request
- Two orientation shifts on unit following facility-based orientation
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
- 36-bed unit with daily census averaging 36 patients; float requirement within facility
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
- BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and NIH Stroke Scale preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry, IV starts and management, peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Neurology or neurosurgical experience strongly preferred
- Current flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Willingness to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team and respond during catastrophic events or disasters
