Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor nurse position in a large hospital setting. This role involves providing patient care to medical surgical and surgical oncology patients, with an emphasis on collaboration and adherence to clinical standards. The position requires prior experience in a similar setting and offers a challenging and rewarding environment for dedicated nursing professionals.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend and holiday, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Active North Dakota (ND) or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license, with state listed in comments.
- Minimum 2 years recent Medical Surgical experience in a hospital with at least 200 beds, level 2 or higher trauma center.
- Travel experience required unless candidate has multiple years of experience in a large level 1 trauma center.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
- EPIC Electronic Medical Record experience.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Surgical oncology experience.
- Additional Information:
- Must badge in and out at the facility.
- Scrubs must be navy blue.
- General responsibilities include collaborating with inter-professional colleagues and practicing within the full scope of nursing standards suited to adult and surgical oncology patients.
- Equipment utilized includes EMR-Epic, AccuDose, bladder scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry equipment.
- Unit consists of 47 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during day shifts and 6:1 at night.
- Unit training includes a one-day lead center training and two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor.
- Must note in submission if clinician has previously worked for the organization; if so, the end date of previous employment must be at least 6 months prior.
- No local candidates within 60 miles will be considered, but candidates living within 80 miles are eligible with rate adjustments.
- The role requires floating to other med/surg units on any campus as needed.
