Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (level 1, 200+ beds)
  • Active RN License (ND or Compact state)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
  • Willingness and ability to float to any Medical Surgical unit across multiple locations if needed
  • Prior travel nursing experience is required
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
  • Experience working in a busy level one trauma center is preferred

General Job Duties

  • Provide nursing care and support for inpatient medical and surgical patients
  • Conduct patient assessments and document electronically using EPIC
  • Administer medications and provide patient education
  • Utilize AcuDose and other inpatient equipment as necessary

Shift and Schedule Requirements

  • 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
  • Shifts may rotate between days and nights based on unit needs
  • Travel nurses can self-schedule; however, flexibility is essential to balance unit demands

Floating Requirements

May be required to float between Medical Surgical Units at various locations within the region.

Unit Overview

This unit specializes in caring for adult trauma, medical, and surgical patients with varying needs. The department is certified for its Hip Fracture Program.
